Site security and fencing - residential construction
Western Australia recently adopted the “Construction Work” code of practice which provides guidance your responsibilities for site security.

In WA, a person with management or control of a construction site is required to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the site is secured from unauthorised access.
All those onsite including builders, subcontractors and other workers must ensure to secure the site or their work area against unauthorised access prior to leaving the site, especially if hazards are present, for example, by securing or isolating any open excavation if there is a risk of anyone falling into it.
This is to prevent members of the public being exposed to health and safety risks such as injury or death.
